I have been using Paint Shop Pro since version 3.14. Since Corel purchased Jasc, I’ve only seen this tool go downhill. Corel has decided to make the product more ‘Corel-like’ and subsequently load PSP down with features it doesn’t need. As a result, the software is unstable, bloated, and slow–note that I have a 3GHz dual core CPU with 2GB of RAM, a 512MB ATI video board, and SATA II drives–so my computer’s hardware is not the problem.
I use PSP as a graphics editor to create all the graphics in the site including the banner and graphic links. I also use it as my digital darkroom for my digital photography. There is nothing better on the market for the price. PSP is around $100 while Adobe Photoshop is over $600, that Corel’s edge won’t hold true for long if Corel keeps loading the software down with unnecessary features and bug-ridden programming and jacking up the price for what is fast becoming inferior software.
