This tutorial series covers some of the basiscs of signals, but none of the math. The point is not to make you an RF engineer, but to teach you how communications works in digital systems by showing you how the underlying analog radio and light systems work. Throughout this tutorial, I am going to use one simple analogy, a piece of string tied to a doorknob or other fixed object. A human will be at the other end of the string, shaking it up and down or side to side. As you read through each of the following pages, keep this string and doorknob example in mind.
